ABOUT HEATHER

BIOGRAPHY

Thanks very much for visiting my website. I hope you will find something here that strikes a chord.

I sell some work directly from my studio while other work is sold through a number of key independent galleries across the north. If you see something on this website you’d like to buy, please email me directly.

To those of you new to my work, I am a Yorkshire-based artist specialising in palette knife work. My aim is to capture emotion and movement in figurative painting while reflecting the depth and diversity of the UK’s extraordinary countryside and coastlines in the landscapes.

I come from a family of keen amateur painters. My mum studied at the Grimsby School of Art while my father discovered his skills in watercolour painting when he retired.

Family commitments and a full time career in  journalism left little time for drawing and painting until our daughters left home. Since then it’s taken off in a way I could never have dreamed of and I now work as a professional artist.

The artistic world is vibrant, exciting – and flourishing and I hope you will enjoy the paintings as much as I love creating them.

This website will give you an idea of my style of work, but please contact me directly via hburton@heatherburtonartist.co.uk for details of my most up to date paintings, or with any questions you might have.

I also run workshops at home and for art groups, and have vouchers available if you are looking for an unusual gift idea.
